AGGREGATORS, BROKERS & CONSULTANTS

TEPA is a powerful coalition of the key players in the deregulated Texas energy market.  We have three types of members.  The organization was founded by a pioneering group of Aggregators, Brokers and Consultants (A/B/Cs) who came together in the early years of deregulation.  This member group consists of independent firms who provide a variety of services to retail clients in Texas and often throughout the country.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS (Retail Energy Providers)

In addition to A/B/Cs, most of the premier Retail Electric Providers (REPs) in Texas are members of TEPA.  Over the years the A/B/Cs and Associate members have formed a powerful alliance to promote consistent and ethical business in the Texas marketplace.  Through an open dialogue and strategic cooperation, A/B/Cs and REPs have tackled legislative issues, worked to develop a code of conduct aimed at ensuring integrity and best business practices, as well as practical solutions to address operational issues of working together to meet the demands of our common clients.  We strongly encourage A/B/C members to work with Associate members of TEPA.

AFFILIATE MEMBERS

Finally, TEPA has a select group Affiliate Members.  These companies each provide unique, energy-related services which both ABC and REP members provide to their clients.  These Affiliate members bring a unique perspective to the association and have been involved in developing initiatives, such as data standardization, that reshape and streamline the way that market participants interact.

REVOCATION OF MEMBERSHIP

TEPA is a non-profit organization that is governed according to the by-laws adopted by its members.  Upon acceptance into the association, each member is required to read, understand and agree to abide by the “Code of Conduct“.  Additionally, it is the responsibility of each member company to ensure that its employees, agents and independent contractors also read, understand and agree to abide by the Code of Conduct.

In the event that a member is alleged to be in violation of the Code of Conduct, then the Disciplinary Committee shall conduct an investigation in accordance with the protocols outlined in the by-laws.  If the disciplinary committee finds that a violation has occurred, or if the member in question fails to respond to the allegations, then there are a number of actions that TEPA may take.  These actions include, but are not limited to, the assessment of a fine, suspension of membership or  permanent revocation of membership.  Members who have their memberships permanently revoked may be listed on the TEPA website.  For questions about the process, please refer to the by-laws and the Code of Conduct.
