The Texas Electricity Professionals Association (TEPA) is a self-regulating body aimed at standardizing processes and ensuring aggregators, brokers, and consultants (A/B/C) maintain an acceptable level of market knowledge and responsibility while transacting in the marketplace.

Members of the A/B/C indirect sales channel community have come together with a common goal to provide a forum for developing common interests and upholding the integrity and maintaining the honor in the business of the deregulated retail electricity market in Texas.

TEPA recently launched the only certification for retail energy aggregation, brokerage & consulting professionals in the United States.

The Certified Electricity Professional (CEP) certification is a voluntary credentialing process intended to establish a recognized standard of knowledge, competency and ethics; formally recognize those who meet these standards; and provide buyers seeking the services of an advisor, broker or consultant with a tool to identify skilled, knowledgeable professionals.

The first Affiliate Member of TEPA, Entrance Software, has continually engaged the community as the leading software platform for Deregulated Energy Sales. CORE is the only end-to-end web-based platform with support for all deregulated markets for Electricity and Natural Gas in both the US and the UK.

The CORE System is already in use by nearly 25% of TEPA ABC Members, and has processed over 21 BILLION kWH of electricity deals, and 80 MILLION Therms of Gas. The CORE team has also worked with TEPA to develop an industry standard remittance format, and is currently being rolled out by a number of REPs.
